Cabure

Argentine technology

The Cabure is an advanced, low cost solution for over-the-hill tactical UAV requirements. A rugged, modular and easy to deploy system, one man-operable, combines an optimized airframe with a powerful electrical engine and an advanced avionics package and digital datalinks. The Cabure UAV is an available solution for UAV requirements of tactical ISR missions in military, law enforcement and civilian fields. The airframe is manufactured in glass fiber, Kevlar and carbon fiber, with a weight of about 3 kg, carrying a variety of payloads such as daylight, IR EO sensors, fixed or gimbal stabilized (depending of the mission requirements).

The new avionics allows flying using manual, assisted or fully automatic navigation, with a new concept called ¨spline navigation ¨. This avionic concept goes beyond waypoint navigation, allowing flying over a specific trajectory over the ground by drawing a line in the GCS screen over a tactical map. The UAV will fly over that desired navigation line instead to fly between designated waypoints. So the user wills ¨really ¨fly over the desired path, even in heavy crosswinds conditions. The Cabure avionics package also includes a data fusion algorithm and 17 highly coupled Kalman filters with calibrated inertial sensor which allows controlling the UAV landings and improve the operation safety in heavy cross wind scenarios.

The Cabure is fitted with advanced digital video links with encryption, with a range of more than 10 km LOS.

The customer can selected several engines options from 300 to 450 Watts and batteries packages depending of the payloads and endurance. Typical endurance is over 1 hour.

The Cabure is hand-launched and the recovery is done by a deep stall maneuver using flaps / brakes to get an almost vertical landing. The payload and avionics inside the airframe are protected by special shock absorber foam to minimize the risk of damage in deep-stall landings.

The GCS is a rugged tablet computer with deployable antennas and true diversity transceivers.

In case of customer requirements, a small parachute can be fit to fulfill the requirements of kinetic energy ground impact in case of failure while the UAV is flying over urban areas.
