Vingfi
Vinghøg model Monocular Night Vision Goggles Weapon Mount are constructed after a Flip - In, Flip - Out principle and named "VINGFI". It is designed in close co-operation with the Norwegian Armed Forces. It is saltwater proof and because of its simple construction it requires little or no maintenance.
VINGFI allows the soldier to rapidly flip out the Night Vision Goggle with one hand grip only.
When flipped out VINGFI will allow the soldier to use the scope normally when illuminating grenades and other pyrotechnic means are being used and hence preventing the use of Night Vision Device.
A magnet switch in the mount instantly turns the night goggle off when flipped out of sight axis. No light slipping out when turned out reduces the possibility for getting spotted and saves battery power.
With only a simple hand grip the soldier can easily move the goggle from the gun to the helmet and conversely, since the same mechanical interface is used.
It can be used permanently on the gun or as an add on item when needed and no tools are required for mounting.
VINGFI is originally designed to be used with the ITT mini NAVY Seal Monocular night Vision goggle and Red Dot sight mounted on a Diemaco SFW. VINGFI can easily be modified to fit any gun with a picatinny rail.
